Our Philosophy
heart

We are more than just a therapy practice; we're your partners in finding peace, based in the vibrant city of Mumbai, India.

Peace By Piece Psychotherapy was founded in the year 2020, as a small therapy practice with a handful of clients. Although the setup and its range of clientele have expanded vastly over the years along with its scope of services, the vision and core values of the practice have persisted, and form the bedrock of the practice.

Peace By Piece Psychotherapy was formed on the premise of a puzzle, and how while solving puzzles, certain pieces belong in certain places in order to form the larger picture.

If we examine our lives objectively, we can imagine feelings of overwhelm, helplessness and confusion while trying to comprehend which pieces of our lives fit in which spaces in order to form a larger picture that we have a very vague or unclear idea of. Is this puzzle even ours to begin with? Do we feel connected to its pieces, or are we just putting them together under duress from external circumstances?

Therapy at Peace By Piece helps you form your own puzzle, and feel connected to the larger picture YOU have in mind from your life. We pick up the pieces YOU want in your puzzle, and amend them to suit what you have in mind. We answer questions of existence such as why am I doing this?

Our Philosophy is simple -
Every person's vision of peace is unique, and we're here to help you piece it together.

Our Fourfold Vision

My practice functions on the premise that individuals grow and socialize as a part of multiple different contexts and institutional and group setups, and that the intersections of these setups can often help us understand an individual’s overall identity better.

Alongside being feminist, I am also sensitive towards and informed of multicultural nuances, marginalization due to caste, religion, and gender and/or sexual identity, and economic status.

Therapy with me feels empowering and introspective. My aim as a therapist is fourfold, as elaborated here:

To create a space that is warm, collaborative, person-centred, and empathetic. No judgements or uncalled-for opinions masquerading as “well-meaning advice”. This space is safe, secure, and is designed for individuals to be able to model healthy relationships in other arenas of their lives as well.

To empower and enable clients to achieve regulation, functional and healthy lifestyles and relationships, and to form a relationship of compassion, care, understanding, awareness, and accountability with themselves first and foremost.

To re-create and nurture ruptured trust, faith, belief, and hope. Facing disillusioning circumstances can often leave us feeling disembodied and devoid of hope. As a therapist I facilitate choice and work with clients to restore ruptures.

To be human. At the end of the day, we’re all humans, and my clients interact with a qualified therapist, absolutely, but also a human being who is vulnerable, sensitive, and a constant work-in-progress. This makes my space more approachable, relatable, and humorous.

I look forward to working with clients, and harbour genuine curiosity towards the unique lives, perspectives, and circumstances that individuals bring to therapy with them!
